Riding the waves of Baler,Aurora Philippines.
I love it when an unplanned trip pushes through. Dave and I were chatting the eve of Wednesday and decided to take the surfing trip. So we immediately packed our bags, didn’t sleep, and headed for the 4:30am bus trip. It was an 8hour trip. The waves there were radical, the current at one point brought me so far to the sea, in the process drowning me continuously, it took me literally 15mins to get out, that was hell of a scare. haha
This is my buddy Dave. The forever reliable, local friendly traveler. Good tripping with this guy, too bad our other friends couldn’t make it.
Our 2-bedroom beach front accommodation. Since Dave was with me, looking for a spot came very easy. Immediately upon our arrival, we befriended the local surfers and instructors. They allowed us to pitch our tent beside there surf shack and make use of there over-exposed shower area. It was a great experience, we hanged out with the surfers and used the shack as our own little clubhouse. Hanged loose if you know what i mean. haha
my stereo-type pose. hahaha. Hangloose hommies. As you can see I’m wearing my wussy weasel in case i drown and get wiped out by the waves again.
The odds of seeing friends from such a remote area. This is my ow so adorable friend mitch. She went there with the FHM team for a photoshoot. yeah, thats right FHM. But she wasnt the model ofcourse. hahaha. And on the first day, meet 4 of Dave’s school mates, and drank with them that night. Good thing cause it would’ve be a bummer if it was just the two of us guys. err
We made a side trip and checked out the biggest balite tree in asia. Huge indeed. They say it takes about 40 men to encircle the tree. Aside from its size, there’s also a pass underneath the tree so you can enter it and see the tree from the inside. Over-all, fun budget trip. I can’t wait for my week long travel next week.
We will be organizing more trips soon, from beach to mountain climbing etc. and everyone is welcome to join us.
